Blades of Death and Life (Part 16) Attack of the Giant Bugs (II)
"It's acidic!"Flame shouted as the soles of his shoes melted.
Staner did not say anything, he just ran forward to one of the millipede and started attacking it. Flame then started burning the other millipede by throwing fireballs at it. Sky had already stood on top of the centipede's head. The centipede shook its head vigorously and began trashing around. Strife took the chance to fire ice shards at it. Sky was trying to keep his balance on top of the centipede's head. A cry was heard as Staner's target crashed onto the ground.Green liquid flowed out of its veins.
"Too easy."Staner said silently.
"Then come and help me!"Flame called out as he dodged the millipede's attacks.
Sky stabbed the centipede but the blade broke.
"It seems it can't be dealed with normal weapons."Sky shouted to Strife when Strife's ice shards broke when it hit the centipede's hard carapace.
Another ear-splitting cry was heard as the other millipede fell.
"It seems that we can't defeat it with our normal weapons..."Staner whispered.
"Staner, it seems that you have to use the sword your father gave you."Flame told him.
Staner drew out a sword which had strange symbols engraved on it.
"Just this once."Staner whispered to himself.
Staner then ran forward to the centipede and stabbed its head. The centipede have a cry of agony and started to trash around. It gave its final cry before crashing into the ground.

Everybody's focus was fixed on the giant centipede and the dragonflies.The giant centipede made no move but the dragonflies flew down and carried River and Aurora away.
"Put me down!"Aurora screamed.
The centipede then moved towards the rest, along with two giant millipedes which had just emerged from the ground.
"Act quickly, because we don't know what these things are coming from or how many there are."Staner told them.
"You mean these things don't come out usually?"Strife asked.
"Of course not."Flame answered.
"I'm taking the centipede."Sky said silently.
"So am I. Both of you can take the millipedes."Strife said to Flame and Staner.
"All right."Flame and Staner replied.
The centipede struck but it missed.The millipedes began spewing venomous glue-like substance.
